Locally appropriate solutions that achieve effective, quality cancer care are achievable if the government, private and public sectors, and civil society, work together to address the barriers.

Significant improvements are essential in the following areas

  • Access to accurate cancer diagnosis
  • Quality treatment
  • Palliative care services, and
  • Availability of affordable essential medicines and technologies
